This week I found myself thinking about something important – what happens after drying?
Its one thing to grow and preserve vegetables, the real magic is how to use them every day.
I’ve been experimenting more in my kitchen, finding simple, practical ways to add my vegetable powder into meals without making things complicated.
One of my favourite ways to use spinach powder is in stews and soups. Just a small spoon added while cooking blends in so easily and you don’t even notice it’s there. But you do know that you’re getting that extra goodness. Ive also started adding it to gravies and even sprinkling a little into dough when baking. Its such a simple way to boost nutrition without changing the flavour.
Carrot powder has been another favourite this week. It adds a subtle sweetness to meals, especially in sauces and rice dishes. Its also great for adding colour which makes food feel a little more vibrant and inviting.
What I love most is how convenient it all is. No washing, no chopping – just open a pouch and use. It reminds me why I started this journey in the first place! To make the most of what I grow and to make everyday cooking a little easier.
Of course, I’m still learning. Sometimes I add too much, sometimes too little. Its all about finding that balance and understanding how each powder works in different meals.
This week has been less about the garden itself and more about brining the garden into my kitchen – and that feels just as rewarding.
Next week, I’ll take you back into the garden and share what I’m planting for the next season and how I plan ahead to keep things growing consistently.
Until then, I’d love to know – what’s your favourite quick meal when you don’t have much time to cook?
